SpendScope by Divora Labs

Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Divora Labs ("Divora Labs", "we", "us") governing your use of the SpendScope mobile application ("SpendScope", "the App"). By downloading, installing, or using SpendScope, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we handle it, and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

1. What SpendScope is — and isn't

SpendScope is a personal expense-tracking and budgeting tool. It helps you manually log spending, set budgets and savings goals, track bills and recurring payments, and (for Premium subscribers) get AI-generated summaries and answers about your own logged data.

SpendScope is not, and does not act as:

• A bank, payment processor, or money transmitter — the App never connects to your bank account, initiates a payment, or moves money on your behalf
• A lender or credit provider — SpendScope never offers, arranges, or facilitates loans
• A registered investment adviser, financial planner, or tax professional
• A substitute for professional financial, investment, tax, or legal advice

Every number, insight, or "Money Story" the App shows you is generated from data you entered yourself. It's meant to help you understand your own spending, not to tell you what to do with your money.

2. Eligibility & your account

You must be at least 18 years old to use SpendScope. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

SpendScope creates an anonymous account for you automatically — we don't ask for a username, email, or password. Instead, the App gives you a recovery code (Settings → Backup & recovery) that lets you restore your data on a new device or after a reinstall. You are responsible for keeping your recovery code somewhere safe — if you lose it and also lose access to the device that generated it, we have no way to recover your data, since we never collect an email or phone number to verify your identity by.

3. Your content

You retain full ownership of the expenses, notes, and other information you enter into SpendScope ("Your Content"). You're solely responsible for what you enter — don't log anything unlawful, someone else's private information without their consent, or content that infringes another party's rights. We don't review or moderate Your Content, except that AI-processed text may pass through automated safety checks as described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Premium subscriptions & billing

SpendScope offers optional Premium subscriptions that unlock AI features (Ask Your Money, weekly Money Story, smart categorization), remove ads, and raise or remove limits on bills, goals, and other free-tier caps.

• Billing — Premium is billed and processed entirely through the app store you downloaded SpendScope from (Google Play or Apple App Store) and, on Android, managed via RevenueCat. We never see or store your card details.
• Price & renewal terms — the exact price, billing period, and any introductory or trial terms for your region are shown to you before you purchase, on the in-app paywall and your app store's checkout screen. Subscriptions automatically renew at the then-current price unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• Cancellation — you can cancel anytime through your app store's subscription management settings (not inside SpendScope itself, since Google Play and Apple both require cancellation to happen at the platform level). Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Premium access until the end of the period you already paid for.
• Refunds — refund requests are handled under Google Play's or Apple's own refund policies, since they process the payment. We don't have the ability to issue a refund directly.
• Price changes — if we change Premium's price, any change will apply from your next renewal at the earliest, and where required by law, we'll notify you in advance.

5. AI features — please read this section

SpendScope's AI features (Ask Your Money, Money Story, automatic categorization) use third-party AI models to generate text based on a summary of your own logged data. Please understand:

• AI-generated responses can be incomplete, out of date, or simply wrong, even though we run automated checks intended to catch unsupported numbers or advice-like language before a response reaches you.
• Nothing generated by SpendScope's AI features is, or should be treated as, financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.
• You're responsible for verifying anything important against your own records before acting on it.

6. Advertising

Free-tier use of SpendScope shows ads served by Google AdMob. Ads are automatically removed for Premium subscribers. See our Privacy Policy for what data is used to serve ads.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that violates any applicable law or regulation
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the App's source code, except where applicable law expressly permits it
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with rate limits, security features, or the Premium paywall
• Use automated means (bots, scripts, scrapers) to access the App or its backend services
• Upload or transmit malicious code, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account other than your own or to our systems
• Misrepresent your identity or age, or impersonate any person or entity

We may suspend or terminate access for any account that violates these Terms.

8. Intellectual property

SpendScope's app, design, logo, and all associated branding are owned by Divora Labs and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms don't grant you any right to use Divora Labs' name, logo, or trademarks. You keep full ownership of Your Content (Section 3).

9. Third-party services

SpendScope relies on third-party services (Firebase, Google Gemini, Google AdMob, RevenueCat, and others) to operate — see Section 5 of our Privacy Policy for the full list and what each one does. Your use of the App may also be subject to those providers' own terms, where applicable (for example, Google Play's Terms of Service govern your purchase of a Premium subscription).

10. Disclaimers

SpendScope is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We don't guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. You use the App, and any AI-generated content within it, at your own discretion and risk.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Divora Labs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or financial loss, arising from your use of or inability to use SpendScope — including any financial decision you make based on information shown in the App. Where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim arose.

12. Termination

You can stop using SpendScope at any time, and permanently erase your account and all associated data via Settings → "Delete All My Data." We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, or discontinue the App or any feature with reasonable notice where required by law. Sections 3, 8, 10, 11, and 13 survive termination.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. This doesn't remove any consumer-protection rights you're entitled to under the mandatory laws of the country where you live.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where required by law, notify you in the App before the changes take effect. Continuing to use SpendScope after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
